Confirmation... what it is and what being a Sponsor means...

I was going to write my next post on what I was giving up for Lent this year and why I was even giving anything up at all... I thought that could be humorous and really get me to think at the same time... you know laughter through tears and all that kind of thing.

But then my sweet, beautiful cousin Chloe called me on Friday and asked me to be her confirmation sponsor. Of course I was honored... and of course, I said yes. So, then I asked her what I had to do because to be honest my own confirmation was a lifetime ago... she said she didn't know, she thought all I had to do was walk up with her and stand in front of the bishop with her while he confirmed her. Sounds easy enough, right? But of course that isn't all there is to it... so now I am working on a post about Confirmation and what it is and what being a sponsor really means.
